Abstract

Amidst the rapid advancement of technology and the demands of Industry 4.0, Balai Latihan Kerja (BLK) faces a significant challenge in preparing competitive graduates. A notable issue is the gap between the skills possessed by BLK graduates and the requirements of the industry. The curriculum, which is not fully aligned with market needs, often leaves graduates inadequately prepared. Additionally, the lack of periodic evaluation and minimal collaboration with industry sectors further impedes the enhancement of graduate quality. This study aims to explore the management of BLK in preparing graduate competencies in Kabupaten Tasikmalaya. Utilizing a descriptive qualitative method, data was collected through observations, interviews, and documentation from seven informants selected through purposive sampling. The findings reveal that effective BLK management involves planning training according to industry needs, developing an adaptive curriculum, providing adequate facilities, and training by expert instructors. BLK Kabupaten Tasikmalaya offers training in information technology, automotive, and electrical fields that align with industry demands. Effective management also enhances both technical skills and soft skills of participants. Strong collaboration with industry and periodic curriculum evaluations are essential to ensure graduates are prepared for the job market. In conclusion, effective BLK management plays a strategic role in improving labor competitiveness by providing competencies aligned with industry needs.
